Fletcher's Focus

Thank you for joining us for our Open House and for supporting your children, our teachers, and our school community. Your partnership in your child’s learning is vital to their success, and we are so grateful for the strong home, school connection that helps our students thrive.

We look forward to all the progress your child will make over the course of the year and will continue to celebrate their growth along the way. Your encouragement and involvement make a tremendous difference in their confidence and achievement.

We’re also excited for upcoming events such as Red Ribbon Week and STEAM Day, which will provide even more opportunities for our students to learn, explore, and shine. Thank you for being such an important part of our ColtcommUNITY and for living 212° with us every day!

Every Degree Counts. Every Student Matters. 💜🐴

At Marble Falls ISD, we believe every minute of reading adds up. While we do not assign homework on Wednesdays, we ask that every child read about 90 minutes each week (for example: 15–20 minutes most nights). Consistent reading builds vocabulary, comprehension, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Please help us by:
  • Reading with your child most nights (or having them read to you/with a sibling).
  • Signing your child’s planner to show that they read and noting the book or minutes.
  • Using our Content Mastery Room (open Monday–Thursday at 7:15 a.m.) as a quiet place to read before school. Our Content Mastery teacher can sign the planner if your child reads there.

Anyone that comes to eat with a child needs to be listed in Skyward. Families must sit at a table separate from the lunch tables to eat lunch as we do not allow parents to sit at student tables. At this time we are asking that they not bring any friends with them to the table when they sit with their families. Photography/videoing is strictly prohibited in the cafe to respect the privacy of all students.

ATTENDANCE

This is an exampleEach week we will post attendance by grade level and homeroom teacher's class. Our goal is to be above 96% attendance for all grade levels each week.

Our campus goal is to increase our overall attendance by 1% per our Campus Improvement Plan. To help us meet this goal, Colt will recognize student perfect attendance every 9 weeks, award a weekly "Golden Present" to the grade level with the most students "present" that week, and report attendance to parents through the newsletter.

Each week, the grade level with the highest attendnace will have an incentive announced at assembly. Please help by getting your child to school on time each day and stay throughout the day!

Attendance Guideline:

The limit is 10 unexcused absences in a year. A Truancy Prevention Plan is required after 5 unexcused absences. This allows open communication and a plan to help resolve any issue.

Our campus goal is to increase our overall attendance by 1% per our Campus Improvement Plan. To help us meet this goal, Colt will recognize student perfect attendance every 9 weeks, award a weekly "Golden Present" to the grade level with the most students "present" that week, and report attendance to parents through the Smore newsletter.

Information about Awards & Recognitions

Student Awards/Recognitions

  • Student of the Month: A student is selected each month from their homeroom class for displaying Social Emotional Learning characteristics: self awareness, self management, responsible decision making, relationship skills, or social awareness. These students showcase 212 degree behavior in their work and attitude and get to celebrate with Harmony School of Creative Arts and a snack!
  • Honor Roll A & A/B: Students earning A Honor Roll have achieved straight A’s in all academic subjects. Students with A/B Honor Roll have earned a mix of A’s and B’s, demonstrating strong academic achievement. Students are given certificates and called to stage during specials.
  • Perfect Attendance: To qualify for Perfect Attendance, students must attend school every day during the 9-week period, arriving on time, with no early exits or unexcused absences. This award celebrates their commitment to being present and ready to learn. Students are given certificates and called to stage during specials.
  • Weekly Attendance incentive: Grade levels or classes with the best attendance can earn rewards and celebrations throughout the year!
  • Reading Awards for AR: Students meet pre-determined reading goals by taking Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes on the books they read. Achievements are recognized with brag tags, certificates, and medals. The highest pre-determined reading levels for each grade and Millionaires are called to the stage to be recognized. The other pre-determined reading levels, students stand in place to be recognized.
  • IXL, Math Seeds, Reading Eggs: A student from each grade is recognized monthly fat assembly for their efforts and particpation in these instrucional programs.
  • 1/2 Marathon and Marathon Runners: Students who complete a half marathon are recognized during assembly by having their names read aloud while they stand. Full marathon runners are celebrated on stage with a certificate, a special toe token, and recognition for their accomplishment.
  • Strong Spot Celebration: When students get recognized with a positive referral, they attend a community-led celebration offered every 5-6 weeks. Positive referrals are earned in one of two ways: 1) individuals receive 64 strong spots for 212 moments (social or academic greatness) or 2) individuals who have a habit of living 212 in some aspect of their lives and do so without being asked.
  • Class Captains - each month, students vote to choose students in their class to be their Class Captains in PE. They are given special tasks and responsibilities in PE throughout the month.

Class Recognitions

  • Completed 212 Strong Chart: When a class earns 212 Strong Spots and completes their class chart, they are celebrated with a special recognition time with the principals. This recognition encourages teamwork and positive behavior throughout the school day.
